Colchester Lathe Adventure

Lathe in front of new workshop

About two years ago I bought an old lathe from an vocational school teacher. Even this was already an Adventure to get the lathe ready to go in my transporter… We managed it thanks to the cleverness of the vocational school teacher and the help of two friends of mine. So after this nothing really worth mentioning happened.

But now I have moved and so some things have changed. I have a new little workshop and everything seems a bit more structured. Nevertheless I have no Three-phase current in it.

To load the machine, I bought a motor crane and rented a trailer from a local hardware store. My back still hurts, but we made it work.

Enclosed you will find some pictures of me and my Colchester Lathe. The year of construction is about 1960. I will make another blog post about the concrete year of construction an how to get to know about.
